this Sunday Cinema im sharing a few of my thoughts && feels that emerge from this amazing Glitch Western. can we call it that? mayhaps. Outer Range is most certainly a Weird Western, a psychedelic Acid Western in which characters travel timespace via a hole that contains mysterious dark matter out on the West pasture of the Abbot ranch.
in the classic Western genre, shootouts are climatic events that punctuate the narrative. Outer Range manifests these events as action scenes and as psychological showdowns. in this way and many others, the characters and their adventures fit into as well as expand the genre conventions of the Western.
i was drawn deeply into Season 1 and superrExxcited for Season 2. my excitement most likely led me to binge those 7 hours of this most recent installment of the ‘show’.
