Glitch Western, Far East
Kunstraum Lakeside exhibition proposal

I propose we glitch the Kunstraum Lakeside itself, to be the Digital Art space of my Glitch Western, Far East dream. This solo exhibition of my work is an impossible dream come true for me to return, from Taiwan, to the Österreich that I love. After more than 25 years of Glitch Art practice and research, I hope to bring my work home to you at the Kunstraum Lakeside in 2025.
My Glitch Western ‘unsettles’ the Western genre by glitching conventions. Iconic characters and landscapes are intentionally disrupted to question my own complicity in foundational myths of the American imagination, colonial imperialism, and racism. Nonlinear storytelling allows me to weave these critiques together over time, across the forms I use, which includes films, games, visual art, and writing in both academic and artistic voice.
