today, on January 2nd, 1921, Karel Čapek introduced the word “Robots” to us in the the world premiere of his play R.U.R. (Rossumovi Univerzální Roboti). the word “Robots” is based on the Czech words “robota,” meaning forced labour which is derived from the word “rab” meaning slave!
